PETA Responds to Kanye West’s Lyrical Jab

I must have heard Kanye West‘s new single “Theraflu” on the radio at least 12 times today and that’s not including the eight hours I was at work. Today’s hot topic was Kanye and everything he had to say during the song. Some were just happy to hear a solo Kanye track and others were obsessed with the fact that he FINALLY professed his love for Kim Kardashian. Animal Rights Group, PETA on the other hand was not that impressed.

In his lyrical jab at PETA he said, “Tell PETA my mink is draggin’ on the floor.” PETA did not hesitate to respond. PETA’s Senior Vice President Dan Matthews sent the following statement to XXLMag.com:

“What’s draggin’ on the floor is Kanye’s reputation as a man with no empathy for animals or human beings,” said Matthews. “He’s a great musician but doesn’t seem to have the fashion sense to design anything more than caveman costumes. We keep hoping that one day he’ll find his heart and join evolved style icons—including Russell Simmons, Pink, and Natalie Portman—who have dropped animal skins.”

One thing is for sure. Both PETA and Kanye  have strong views and are very outspoken. I respect it! You weigh in. How do you feel about Kanye’s jab at PETA?

VS Fashion Show Recap: Nicki Minaj, Kanye West & Jay-Z

Wednesday evening, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show aired on CBS with no shortage of sparkle, pink and angel wings. Nicki Minaj pranced up and down the extremely long runway performing her hit single “Super Bass”. Just in case you missed it, watch the performance below.

Kanye West also performed at the Fashion Show but first explained how he was supposed to perform “Stronger” in 2007 before his mother passed. After his slight throwback performance he surprised the audience by bringing out his other half, Jay-Z. The power duo performed “Paris” to a standing crowd. Watch both performances below.

Celebrity Visit at Occupy Wall Street

Russell Simmons and Kanye West hit Occupy Wall Street to support the cause and its protesters. Although it’s picking up, the media isn’t producing any serious coverage on the protest. Yesterday, I saw a news story about the protestors using used pizza boxes to create protest signs. Really…is that what your really focusing on. Celebrities always bring publicity and that’s exactly what Russell and Yezzy’s visit did. Not sure why Kanye did not say a word and Russell did all the talking for him though.

Peep the Footage below.

New Video: “Marvin & Chardonnay”

Two things you have to love. The first, a Hype Williams video and the second, a video full of color.

The video for Big Sean’s explosive single, “Marvin & Chardonnay” has finally been released. Kanye West and Roscoe Dash join Big Sean in this Hype Williams directed video. Williams plays with pops of color, shapes and movement. I expected a video full of bedroom scenes and we got video art. Enjoy!

VIBE June/July “SEXY” Issue

Magazine theme issues are genius. They not only give the reader something to look forward to but offers a variety of material on one topic. VIBE Magazine rolls out its SEXY Issue.

Model and glorified girlfriend, Amber Rose covers VIBE’s SEXY issue with rap star Rick Ross on a second cover. Rose is a given. VIBE would have been stupid not to put her on the cover. Although Ross is at the top of my list and is no stranger to a VIBE cover, many are surprised to see the Boss gracing the front of the SEXY issue. Personally, I love that VIBE steered away from typical.

Both artist open up and share things you wouldn’t normally find out in a regular promotional  interview. Rose discusses Kanye West and their break-up, rebounding with Reggie Bush, becoming an icon and more. The Breakfast Club’s Angela Yee sat down with Ross to find out what type of woman he likes.

Catch the June/July issue of VIBE for more from Amber Rose and Rick Ross.
