Nicki Minaj Unveils NEW Lavender Lip Color For MAC

Nicki Minaj MAC

Nicki Minaj is adding a new shade of color to her signature look. MAC Viva Glam helped Nicki brand her pink lips with Pink Friday lipstick and now the partnership is taking it purple.

MAC  and Nicki Minaj just unveiled her new lavender lip color for her solo Mac Viva Glam campaign. Who ever thought Nicki would trade in her signature pink for a shade of purple?  I didn’t see that coming but it’s a good way to keep us on our toes.  MAC announced the news this morning on Twitter:

Going solo in 2013, @NICKIMINAJ’s next Viva Glam Lipstick avail Feb. #BARBZ, you made it trend: #LAVENDERISTHENEWPINK

The lavender shade will hit stores in February. I’m sure hit will fly off the MAC counter just like everything else Nicki puts her name on.

Philadelphia’s Global Fusion Festival

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of volunteering for Philadelphia’s Global Fusion Festival. In between banding V.I.P Guest and manning the press box (more like assisting), I managed to take a few pictures with my handy Iphone and I do mean a few. Unfortunately, I didn’t capture half of the festival’s essence.

For 8 hours, a diverse group of communities convened at the beautiful Penn’s Landing Great Plaza for a taste of Philly, deeply rooted art and fashion, cultural performers and music’s hottest artist. Anthony David, Brenda K. Starr, J-King y Maximan, OCD: Moosh & Twist and Shurwayne Winchester rocked the stage for the Festival’s Carnival theme. Major recording artists Meek Mill, Maino, Estelle and Melanie Fiona were an extra special treat for the crowd.

While manning the press box, I was front row for Melanie Fiona’s performance. As soon as she hit the stage, I was paralyzed by how beautiful she was but within the first note she sung her voice stole my heart. Today, we don’t have a plethora of GOOD singers so when you hear a voice that deserved to be signed it is undeniable. Melanie gave a performance which all artist strive for. It was raw and didn’t seem  super rehearsed. She truly connected with the crowed. I was a fan before but now I can say she is easily one of my favorite singers. Check out some videos that surfaced the net over the weekend.

Overall, the festival made for a perfect Saturday. If you missed it this year, I’m begging you not to miss it next year!

Pink Fridays With M.A.C

With competition being so intense in almost every industry, a good brand may be the only thing to set you apart from the pack. With that said, I say this…Nicki Minaj’s brand is STRONG. The female rap star started a Barbie movement and now she is creating a Pink empire.

M.A.C Cosmetics teamed up with Nicki Minaj to bring you Pink 4 Friday Lipstick, a bright yet creamy satin formula designed by Minaj herself. The lipstick was created to celebrate the release of her debut album, Pink Friday. “For them to name the lipstick after my album makes me feel like I can do anything in the world because they are such an important brand and such an important staple in our culture,” Minaj told PEOPLE Magazine.

The limited edition addition to M.A.C is only available online for four Fridays which started on November 26, 2010. YOU HAVE 2 MORE FRIDAYS TO GET YOUR NICKI MINAJ LIP FIX. Pink is in when it comes to lips so this is definitely a good buy especially at limited edition for $14.95 a stick.

M.A.C. Villains Revealed

You may have heard a few months back that the beloved M.A.C. Cosmetics would be launching a new Disney line called Venomous Villains. Well, the Villains have been revealed! The four characters are the Evil Queen from Snow White, Maleficient from Sleeping Beauty, Dr. Facilier from Princess and the Frog, and Cruella de Ville from 101 Dalmatians.

The collection will include 40 items with colors produce by Pantone. This collection is extra special because the colors are original. “Disney gave us the colors used when these characters were drawn throughout their history,” said VP of product development. Whether you consider yourself a princess, villain, or a M.A.C. queen this line is for everyone. Disney Villains are memorable and I predict any girl or woman or wears this collection will share the same characteristics. Major PR points for M.A.C. Cosmetics♥

Expect the Venomous Villains Collection in stores and online this fall!
