VH1 Basketball Wives Star Evelyn Lozada and known hot head seems to be cleaning up her brand and channeling all of her energy in positive ventures. You may have noticed a more health obsessed Evelyn lately especially if you follow her on Instagram. Her “stay fit” attitude paid off and landed her a new gig at Latina.com as their celebrity fitness blogger.
“I’m thrilled and super excited to be the new Fitness blogger for Latina, said Evelyn. The magazine is just as hype about Evelyn’s new position. “We are thrilled to announce that “Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada is Latina.com’s new celeb fitness blogger,” reads a statement. “Beginning next week, the curvaceous Puerto Rican reality star will be blogging about her favorite fitness routines, her healthy diet & more in a weekly fitness blog exclusively for Latina.com readers!”

On Friday, Ginger + Liz held a pampering event for “bloggers they love” at Noho’s Lali Lali Salon. Girl Meets PR was lucky enough to be in attendance for the event that was a launch for their new Winter colors:
Better Off Without You – bright/burnt orange
Jeggings (my personal favorite) – royal bluish
Health is Wealth – the good kind of green
Skin Tight – barely there nude shade
Demi Cup – a light, playful pink
The event was truly a girl’s night out with complimentary Ginger + Liz manicures in addition to chair massages and blow outs by Lali Lali Salon Gallery. Rounding out the night was cocktails by Barefoot Wine & Bubbly and Hors d’oeuvres from Seasoned Vegan.
The line has been steadily growing since its creation in 2009. The nail polish is available at select salons in NYC and on their website www.gingerandliz.com. The polishes are a bit more pricey than Essie and OPI brands, but could definitely be worth the investment for those looking for trendy, eco-friendly nail polish. See the NEW colors below!
Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin pose for MAC Cosmetic’s charity 2012 campaign. The promo shots were photographed by David LaChapelle and the shoot was all the about the new lip colors. The new lipsticks, which will be called VivaGlam Nicki and VivaGlam Ricky, will come in two very cute shades of pink. 100% of the sales will be donated to help fight HIV/AIDS. According to MAC, the charity has already raised $224 million since it launched in 1994.
Other faces of this campaign include Lady Gaga, Fergie, Naomi Campbell, Cyndi Lauper and Linda Evangelista.

On Tuesday, Miami Basketball Wife Jennifer Williams hosted a launch party/shopping event for her LUCID Lip Gloss line in NYC at the Big Drop. Williams plans to expand her brand by adding eye shadow, blushes and jewelry in the future.
In other beauty news, Williams’ Basketball Wives co-star Evelyn Lozada has recently been announced as the new face of Secret Kisses lipstick and lip gloss line. “I’ve loved makeup all my life, and lipstick is the starting point of my day,” said Lozada. “Whether I want to be bold, flirty, saucy or natural, being a part of the Secret Kisses brand allows me the opportunity to be all of those things and I’m excited!”
Looks like the former besties have entered into a beauty brand rivalry. Secret Kisses had to know that adopting Evelyn would stir up some press opportunities. Smart… I guess. Battle of the brands. I love it!
While Kelly Rowland is in the UK working as a judge for UK’s X Factor, she is soaking up all of press opportunities coming her way. Adding to her list of campaign endorsements, Rowland is the new face of UK’s version of the US “Got Milk?” Campaign, “Make Mine Milk”.
She speaks on the effect milk has on her body:
“I really believe that looking after your body makes you feel good on the inside and happy on the outside. When I’m feeling fit, I also feel confident and comfortable in my own skin. I like to eat healthily and milk is an important part of that; I have muesli with semi-skimmed milk when I wake up in the morning and now that I am spending this winter in London, I love to pick up a latte on my way home from the studio when it’s cold outside!”

SMIRNOFF has a full marketing plan, including television, radio, print, online advertising and public relations. Included in the plan is model and socialite Amber Rose as the new face of the launch campaign. Both SMIRNOFF Whipped Cream and SMIRNOFF Fluffed Marshmallow Flavored Vodkas are now available across the US.
Might I add that Amber has her hands in a little bit of everything now days. Heard she was in the studio and now the face of a huge spirits campaign. Can’t knock her.
Mommy of two, Mariah Carey stopped by The Rosie Show to discuss her major weight loss. Carey reveled her 70 lbs loss to Rosie’s viewers and announced that she is the NEW brand ambassador for Jenny Craig. Guess Jenny Craig was sick of all the attention Weight Watchers was getting with Jennifer Hudson. Way to recruit a R&B diva. I’m not mad at it. View the teaser below.
On Halloween, Kim K. announced that she would be splitting from soon to be ex-husband, Kris Humphries after 72 days of marriage. The Kardashian-Humphries wedding gained attention world-wide and a large list of brands wanted in on the “storybook” day.
High-end designer, Vera Wang designed three beautiful dress for Kim’s big day. In September, Wang revealed that she would add two dresses to her White by Vera Wang Collection for David’s Bridal that were inspired by Kim’s one-of-a-kind dresses. Wang told E! News she wanted to create a more affordable version of the tulle ball gown worn during the ceremony as well as the ruffled mermaid dress she wore at the reception. Both replica’s are slated to hit David Bridal’s stores in February for $1,500 each. Before the split, the Kim K. inspired gowns were a hot item for sure but critics are speculating the dresses will be a joke.
Despite the failed marriage, negative press and the mixed sales projections, the executive VP of David’s Bridal Brian Beitler said, “The entire White by Vera Wang Spring 2012 collection will be available exclusively at David’s Bridal stores next season.”
The media is calling the dresses “cursed”. I don’t care what the media says. I’ve watched enough Say Yes To The Dress episodes to know that a beautiful wedding dress will sale…Kim K. or no Kim K.! I predict the Spring 2012 Collection will be fine.
