After singing the National Anthem live, Beyoncé held a press conference to clear up some things and answer some questions from the media. During the press conference Q&A portion, the 31-year-old singer confirmed that she did lip sync during her Inauguration performance but she will most definitely be performing live during this Sunday’s Super Bowl. She briefly spoke about her daughter and her HBO special but politely passed over questions about a Destiny’s Child reunion and her pick for a Super Bowl champion. Watch a clip below.

On to the fun stuff!

Well it looks like the  fans aren’t the only ones excited about this Sunday’s halftime performance. Beyoncé has some admirers on the field as well and they sat down with NFL.com to talk this year’s Super Bowl super star performer.   A video of the  players was posted and with respect to Jay-Z, the players gushed about B and their favorite songs. A couple of the players even sing! Such a cute video!

Seems like Beyoncé is making headlines just about every other day now. With all the Inauguration and Super Bowl buzz, the Baddie Bey craze is at an all time high and she is riding the wave.

Fans of Beyoncé eat up just about anything she does. At this point, I am pretty sure can’t do any wrong in her fans eyes so they are always asking for more. And more they get.  Beyoncé just released an ad for her fifth fragrance, Pulse NYC and it’s New York glamour.

“I thought that now that I am a New Yorker and I’ve learned about how I can accomplish anything in this city, I felt it was an appropriate energy for the new fragrance,” she says in a behind-the-scenes video for the ad shoot. Watch the BTS video below.

In the spirit of Throwback Thursday and all of the excitement surrounding Beyoncé’s new GQ February Cover, I thought it was only fitting to take a walk down memory lane and revisit some of Baddie Bey’s older cover girl moments. See a few below.

Beyoncé Reunites With Pepsi For $50 Million Dollar Deal

Beyonce For PepsiBeyoncé first linked up with Pepsi back in 2001 and now the two powerhouses have reunited for what has been reported as a $50 million dollar deal. Not only does the deal include  Limited Edition Series cans but album promotion, concerts, videos and creative advertising. “Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve,” said Beyoncé . She continued, “As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity.”

Parkwood Entertainment general manager Lee Anne Callahan-Longo  revealed to the NY Times, “It’s wise for a brand like Pepsi to give an artist the ability to truly express herself, instead of just the old-school way of, ‘Do you want to be in an advertisement?’ This is much bigger.  This is, ‘How can we create something together that is truly unique?’ ”

Predictions are that the big Pepsi/Beyoncé explosion will happen around the time of her 2013 Superbowl performance. Look out for a commercial and rumored new music around that time.

Etta James Passes At the Age of 73

On Friday, January 20th we loosed blonde songstress Etta James. James passed at the age of 73 in a Riverside, California hospital. In 2010, the six-time Grammy winner was diagnosed with leukemia. Complications with her leukemia was reported to be the cause of her death.

You may remember Beyoncé playing Etta James in the movie Cadillac Records. After she heard the news, Beyoncé wrote:

“This is a huge loss. Etta James was one of the greatest vocalists of our time. I am so fortunate to have met such a queen. Her musical contributions will last a lifetime. Playing Etta James taught me so much about myself, and singing her music inspired me to be a stronger artist. When she effortlessly opened her mouth, you could hear her pain and triumph. Her deeply emotional way of delivering a song told her story with no filter. She was fearless, and had guts. She will be missed.” [SOURCE]

Beyoncé is right. We don’t get music like James’ music any more. She will be missed.

On of my favorite songs of all time…

Beyonce’s Baby Bump Breaks Twitter Record

During the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, Beyonce announced her pregnancy. The twitterverse went crazy and set a new record for the popular social network.

@twitterglobalpr   announced an astonishing 8,868 Tweets per second about the baby news. The new record beat out the news of Osama bin Laden’s death. Kind of crazy but not too surprising.

Big congratulations to Beyonce and Jay Z!

New Videos – Rihanna + Beyonce

Rihanna gives us a new video for her new single and one of my favorite songs, “Cheers (Drink to that)” from her latest album, LOUD. The video features moments from her world tour and personal time this summer. Evan Rogers and Ciarra Pardo directed the video.

Queen B also released a visual for one of her favorite songs, “1+1”. She directed the video along with Laurent Briet and Ed Burke.  We can expect more videos from B, as Columbia Records has said that this is the first of many to be released. They plan to visually tell the 4 story.

Beyonce’s “4” Exclusive Target Commercial

Beyonce will release a deluxe edition of her new album “4” exclusively at Target stores. To promote the deluxe edition, Beyonce filmed a commercial highlighting the time she took away from performing and creating music and how her experiences inspired her latest album.

“4” will be on shelves Tuesday, June 28th. Many are predicting low sales and others are saying this will push Beyonce over the top. It will be interesting to see the outcome next week. Personally, Beyonce has proven that she can’t do much wrong so I don’t think she has anything to worry about.
