Queen Latifah Lands New Talk Show

Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere’s Flavor Unit closed a deal with Will Smith and James Lassiter’s Overbrook Entertainment for a new talk show. The talk show has been picked up by Sony Pictures TV and will launch next fall. The show will be carried by 16 CBS owned and operation stations.

Music, acting and producing. Hosting is only right to be next in line. Congratulations and good luck Queen Latifah!

Chrisette Michele Pulls Inspiration from Fashion Icon for New Look & Mixtape

Chrisette Michele may have taken a little break after her third album Let Freedom Ring but she is back and prancing around with a new look. The soul singer became inspired by her favorite fashion icon, Audrey Hepburn during her travels to London, Brussels, Paris and Amsterdam this past summer.

Chrisette bought her Hepburn inspiration to Derek Blanks for a photo shoot to brand her new look. Accompanying the new photos she also created her new mixtape project, Audrey Hepburn: An Audiovisual Presentation, featuring a collection of photography and video by Derek Blanks, docu-shorts and music fusing together the sounds of Hip Hop, R&B, World Music and Jazz. Lisa Raye Backs Obama in Creative Photo Shoot

Celebrities have been doing whatever they can to show their support for and endorse their picks for the next President. Actress Lisa Raye jumped on the wagon showing her own creative push for Obama. In a school setting, Raye posed topless with an image of an American Flag and Obama’s face painted on her back letting us all know she has his back. Raye had this to say about her photo:

“Thank you all so much election day is almost here so I want all to get to the polls & s/o to my artist keenan chapman who brought my vision to life.”

Katie Perry Rallies for Obama in Skin Tight Ballot Dress

Since when did the Presidential race get so sexy?

Singer Katy Perry rallied for President Obama in a skin-tight white dress during a performance in Las Vegas. Though she gave a great performance, the internet can’t stop talking about the ballot dress.

The free concert given at a park in a historically minority neighborhood just northwest of downtown Las Vegas drew in over 10,000 people. Perry encouraged the crowd to vote early. “Don’t wait. Go tomorrow,” she said. “How many of you are 18 here? It’s going to be your first time, right?”

Not only did the crowd get to hear some of Perry’s biggest hits but they also got the opportunity to hear the President speak. He told the crowd, “I believe in you. I need you to keep believing in me.”

Donald Trump Wants Transparency in Exchange of $5 Million

Donald Trump has been sending public digs to President Obama for  some time now. Trump demanded the President’s birth certificate and he handed it over. Apparently Trump isn’t satisfied. Trump claims President Obama isn’t as transparent as past Presidents and is now requesting his college application/records and passport application/records. If the President so chooses to play along with Trump’s antics, Trump will sign a $5 million check to his charity of choice.

Hey Trump, why not just donate the $5 million on your own accord instead of bribing our President. charities could really use that money so I believe it is an offer President Obama can’t refuse…just my prediction. What do you think?

Ludacris Releases “Conjure” Commercial

If you follow Ludacris on Instagram or Twitter, you already know that he has been pushing his Conjure cognac heavy. The rapper/actor dropped a new commercial for the brand. The commercial features R&B singer D. Woods and was directed by actor Lorenz Tate.

Maybe it’s just me but this Conjure commercial reminds me of the Ciroc commercial. You take a look at it below and let me know what you think.

Meek Mill For Young & Reckless Fall/Holiday 2012 Line


Popular west coast brand Young & Reckless teamed up with MMG’s Meek Mill for their new Fall/Holiday 2012 collection. In the campaign video you can find Philly’s own bike riding rocking pieces from the collection. The campaign is so true to Meek Mill yet also speaks to what the Young & Reckless brand represents. It’s one of the best combinations I have seen in a while.

Meek has been super busy. Not only has he blessed the Young & Reckless campaign, he is gearing up to release his highly anticipated debut album. Also he inked a deal with headphone company Skullcandy and PUMA. I’m anxious to see what he adds to these other brands but for now watch the Young & Reckless campaign video below.
