Alicia Keys Named BlackBerry’s New Global Creative Director

Recently, the Girl On Fire singer Alicia Keys announced she was  joining BlackBerry as their new Global Creative Director. Keys was hired to work closely with app developers, content creators, retailers, carriers and the entertainment community to help assist with the new BlackBerry 10 platform.

“I find that in my life a majority of people may consider one phone a play phone and they consider a BlackBerry a work phone,” Keys says. “I think that there is an incredible opportunity to bridge that gap. We can create one device that allows you to do everything. So those things that you might consider play you can still be able to do on your BlackBerry 10. And those things that you consider work you obviously do at the highest efficiency on the BlackBerry 10.”

BlackBerry seemed like a dying breed but I guess they had something in the works all along. Lets see if the new BlackBerry 10 Platform and A. Keys will revive the brand.

KA’OIR Cosmetics Shoots “THE AMERICAN DREAM” Campaign

Keyshia Kaoir of KA’OIR Cosmetics honored America’s favorite colors for her “THE AMERICAN DREAM” campaign. Rapper Trina and G.O.O.D. Music’s First Lady Teyana Taylor joined Keyshia on set rocking red, white and blue lips.

KA’OIR cosmetics photo shoots always pop…with color, of course! The brand does a really good job combining simple and bold. Not sure if that makes sense but that is what is intriguing about the brand.

7 Covers, 1 Girl: Rihanna For Complex Magazine

In honor of her seventh studio album, Unapologetic, Complex Magazine revealed seven covers featuring non other than the bad girl herself, Rihanna. The multiple cover shoot was photographed by Zoe McConnell and inside the singer revealed details about her beloved Instagram account, collaborations with Chris Brown, the 777 Tour and much more.

According to Complex, Rihanna has 4.3 million followers on Instagram and has taken over 230 self portraits. “Get a good light,” she advises. “Get a good angle on what’s working for you that day… If it’s boobs, make sure you hit that. If it’s face, make sure it’s fierce,” she continued with her self-portrait pointers.

Jay-Z Launches D’USSÉ Cognac At LIV

Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce took a break from Miami’s Art Basel festivities to enjoy the night life. Last Sunday (December 9th), Jay celebrated the launch of D’USSÉ, a “bold new expression of cognac”, at Liv nightclub. Some of the industry’s brightest including Fabolous, The Dream, Kelly Rowland, DJ Clue, Don P, Pusha T and Teyana Taylor were in attendance.  All Gold Everything rapper Trinidad James hit the stage for a performance.

Beyoncé Reunites With Pepsi For $50 Million Dollar Deal

Beyonce For PepsiBeyoncé first linked up with Pepsi back in 2001 and now the two powerhouses have reunited for what has been reported as a $50 million dollar deal. Not only does the deal include  Limited Edition Series cans but album promotion, concerts, videos and creative advertising. “Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve,” said Beyoncé . She continued, “As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity.”

Parkwood Entertainment general manager Lee Anne Callahan-Longo  revealed to the NY Times, “It’s wise for a brand like Pepsi to give an artist the ability to truly express herself, instead of just the old-school way of, ‘Do you want to be in an advertisement?’ This is much bigger.  This is, ‘How can we create something together that is truly unique?’ ”

Predictions are that the big Pepsi/Beyoncé explosion will happen around the time of her 2013 Superbowl performance. Look out for a commercial and rumored new music around that time.

VH1 Basketball Wives Star Evelyn Lozada and known hot head seems to be cleaning up her brand and channeling all of her energy in positive ventures. You may have noticed a more health obsessed Evelyn lately especially if you follow her on Instagram. Her “stay fit” attitude paid off and landed her a new gig at Latina.com as their celebrity fitness blogger.

“I’m thrilled and super excited to be the new Fitness blogger for Latina, said Evelyn. “Beats By Dre” Shares Newest #ShowYourColor Commercial

“Beats By Dre”  shares their latest #ShowYourColor ad campaign. King James, Skylar Grey, Tunechi, Double Chainz, Azealia Banks, MGK and will.i.am all make a colorful appearance in the commercial along with 10 contest winners selected by Dr. Dre. The commercial featured will.i.am’s newest track with Britney Spears, “Scream & Shout”. The “Beats By Dre” brand is one to watch and is truly setting a unique tone for viral marketing. It’s cool to watch.

Chris Brown Joins Wilhelmina International, Inc.

Wilhelmina International, Inc. inked a modeling deal with Chris Brown with the hopes of exploring and developing fashion and beauty endorsements as well as editorial and licensing opportunities.

Wilhelmina International, Inc. has previously represented music artists Fergie, Keri Hilson and Iggy Azalea and paired them with major national brands.
Brown announced his new role and said, “Art and style has always played a significant role in my life — it’s evolved with me throughout my career.” He continued, “I’m so happy to join the Wilhelmina team, which has countless successes in the industry, to explore this new avenue.”

Wilhelmina Men Director Taylor Hendrich also spoke about the new addition. “We recognize that Chris Brown is not just a voice, a dance or a lyric; he is a multi-faceted artist with a unique take on style, and we are excited to translate and extend his brand into these industries,” said Hendrich.

Zoe Saldana for New LensCrafters’ Campaign

Actress Zoe Saldana is the new face of LensCrafters’ myLook campaign, which launched today. We have all seen her on and off camera with frames. Now we get to see her wearing some of the cutest looks in print. ELLE.com got a hold of behind-the-scenes information and learned that at the photo shoot, Saldana sang and danced to Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, and Kings of Leon; and she prefers cat-eye shaped, tortoise-shell, and bright-red frames.
