Nominated for a Grammy award tonight, Melanie Fiona’s “Wrong Side of a Love Song” called on actor Larenz Tate to direct the highly anticipated music video. A fan-favorite from her sophomore album The MF Life, the video gave Melanie the chance to try her hand at acting and I am sure her talented director had a lot to do with that. Check out behind-the-scenes footage below.
While she isn’t performing, attending award shows and shooting videos, Melanie Fiona is working on her third album which is expected to be her strongest body of work according to recent interviews.
After singing the National Anthem live, Beyoncé held a press conference to clear up some things and answer some questions from the media. During the press conference Q&A portion, the 31-year-old singer confirmed that she did lip sync during her Inauguration performance but she will most definitely be performing live during this Sunday’s Super Bowl. She briefly spoke about her daughter and her HBO special but politely passed over questions about a Destiny’s Child reunion and her pick for a Super Bowl champion. Watch a clip below.
On to the fun stuff!
Well it looks like the fans aren’t the only ones excited about this Sunday’s halftime performance. Beyoncé has some admirers on the field as well and they sat down with NFL.com to talk this year’s Super Bowl super star performer. A video of the players was posted and with respect to Jay-Z, the players gushed about B and their favorite songs. A couple of the players even sing! Such a cute video!

We were all devastated and heartbroken over Friday’s tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT. It’s hard to imagine but sadly this has become our reality. We can’t change what happened but we can honor the innocent lives lost by working everyday to become better people. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have been affected.
Since the news broke, we have all been trying to cope with the horrific event. For some, music is therapeutic and helps tremendously. Singer Mike Posner like most of the world was moved by the Sandy Hook tragedy. So moved that he recorded a song in dedication to the families of the victims in Newtown. Listen to “Heaven” below.
Chrisette Michele may have taken a little break after her third album Let Freedom Ring but she is back and prancing around with a new look. The soul singer became inspired by her favorite fashion icon, Audrey Hepburn during her travels to London, Brussels, Paris and Amsterdam this past summer.
Chrisette bought her Hepburn inspiration to Derek Blanks for a photo shoot to brand her new look. Accompanying the new photos she also created her new mixtape project, Audrey Hepburn: An Audiovisual Presentation, featuring a collection of photography and video by Derek Blanks, docu-shorts and music fusing together the sounds of Hip Hop, R&B, World Music and Jazz. Rapper Azealia Banks has been selected to represent Alexander Wang’s Fall 2012 campaign. You may have peeped some of Alexander Wang’s clothing in A$AP Rocky “Goldie” video. Continuing with his support for the up and coming in hip hop, Banks is all over the Alexander Wang Brand this fall campaign.
“She exudes a certain rawness that makes her a very unique talent,” said the designer. “I loved working with her on this video for T Fall 2012, and think the collaboration captures a collision of energies.”
Banks took to Twitter to express her excitement, “That’s right! Azealia Banks is the muse for this season’s, T BY ALEXANDER WANG campaign!”
Check out the T by Alexander Wang campaign video below.
If you haven’t had your daily dose of something different today, I give you “Ima Read” by Zebra Cats featuring Njena Redd Foxxx. I came across the “Ima Read” video today and though I thought after 30 seconds I would keep it moving, I couldn’t bring myself to pause it. The lyric and video combination is weirdly and shockingly catchy. I almost don’t want to admit that I like it but I would bump it on the low and slowly work my way up to blasting it as I fly down the NJ Turnpike. What can I say. I am a Jersey Girl and I love house music.
Watch it for yourself below and let me know what you think!
My oh my, how time flies! It’s about that time again for President Obama to begin campaigning. He kicks off his re-election campaign with “Forward” a seven minute condensed video that expresses Obama’s argument for re-election.
Speaking about campaigning, what is it without rallies. President Obama will hold his first rallies this weekend in Virgina and Ohio.
