Evelyn Lozada Goes Naked for PETA

image

During her birthday bash in LA today, Basketball Wives Miami star Evelyn Lozada unveiled what everyone is calling a “cheeky” campaign ad for PETA. Evelyn’s winter themed I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur Rather campaign was shot by photographer, Drexina Nelson.

When Lozada sat down with PETA she explained that after watching footage of animals being tortured for fashion she was persuaded to bare it all for the campaign and be a voice for the animals. “You can verbalize what happens to these animals a thousand times, but when you see it, it definitely clicks in… and it did for me,” said Lozada.

Lozada definitely seems to be keeping her self busy after her messy quickie marriage. On top of being the new celebrity fitness blogger for Latina.com, she is filming the fifth season of her reality show. Her PETA partnership will featured on the show which will air this Spring.

Wendy Williams Goes Naked for PETA & Gives Up Furs

Talk show host and gossip queen Wendy Williams took it all off for PETA‘s popular ‘I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur’ campaign.  Wendy admits she used to rock minx and fox fur but had a change of heart after seeing how cruel the animals were treated. “We should all try to be comfortable in our own skin and let animals keep theirs,” says Wendy. Wendy unveiled her ‘I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur’ Winter campaign in Times Square on Wednesday (November 28,2012).

In addition to the photos, Wendy and PETA are encouraging fur coat owners to donate them to the organization, who will then give them to homeless people.  PETA is working with shelters in Wendy’s home state of New Jersey for winter coat drives which is extra special since so many lost everything due to Hurricane Sandy.Check out some behind the scenes footage below.

PETA Responds to Kanye West’s Lyrical Jab

I must have heard Kanye West‘s new single “Theraflu” on the radio at least 12 times today and that’s not including the eight hours I was at work. Today’s hot topic was Kanye and everything he had to say during the song. Some were just happy to hear a solo Kanye track and others were obsessed with the fact that he FINALLY professed his love for Kim Kardashian. Animal Rights Group, PETA on the other hand was not that impressed.

In his lyrical jab at PETA he said, “Tell PETA my mink is draggin’ on the floor.” PETA did not hesitate to respond. PETA’s Senior Vice President Dan Matthews sent the following statement to XXLMag.com:

“What’s draggin’ on the floor is Kanye’s reputation as a man with no empathy for animals or human beings,” said Matthews. “He’s a great musician but doesn’t seem to have the fashion sense to design anything more than caveman costumes. We keep hoping that one day he’ll find his heart and join evolved style icons—including Russell Simmons, Pink, and Natalie Portman—who have dropped animal skins.”

One thing is for sure. Both PETA and Kanye  have strong views and are very outspoken. I respect it! You weigh in. How do you feel about Kanye’s jab at PETA?

Waka Flocka Does PETA for The Second Time

Last year, Rapper Waka Flocka Flame appeared naked in a campaign ad for PETA promoting animal rights. This year, he is fully clothed bringing awareness to dog abuse in his second campaign. During the shoot of this campaign, Waka visited the Atlanta Humane Society  and got a chance to share why he feels it is importance to show your pets lots of love.

Angela Simmons for PeTA – Ad Campaign

Promoting her vegetarian eating habits, reality star and entrepreneur Angela Simmons poses nude for a new PeTA ad campaign. Inspired by her mogul uncle Russell Simmons to go vegan, Simmons says she feels good. “I’m happy with it. I feel lighter — it’s a good feeling,” she said.

The ad campaign, “Eating Meat Is A Sin: Go Vegetarian”, is PeTA’s newest effort. Simmons had this to say about her new role as the face or should I say body of PeTA:

“I wanted to bring attention to a vegan lifestyle and raise awareness for PETA. I feel it’s very important to show compassion for all of God’s creations—and adopting a vegan diet for me is the best way to live a healthier lifestyle and keep innocent animals from suffering.”

HOT New Peta Ads

NFL running back, Willis McGahee scores big by joining PETA’s “Ink, Not Mink” Campaign. McGahee shows off his skin in this PSA (public service announcement) to raise awareness about the cruelty of killing animals for their fur.  “Because animals who are killed for their fur endure tremendous pain and suffering, McGahee chooses “Ink, Not Mink” and encourages his fans to do the same,” said in a PETA article titled, Willis McGahee Chooses ‘Ink, Not Mink’.

McGahee isn’t the only one heating up PETA ads. Actress, Taraji P. Henson, also joined the cause.

Yet another celebrity rather go naked than wear fur and these ads are so spicy, I am sure everybody is begging PETA to keep them coming. Henson drops her clothes for PETA’s “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” campaign. Henson revealed she used to rock a fur with giving it a second thought until she saw a documentary that uncovered the process of killing and skinning animals on what is called, fur farms.

“Education is key,” stresses Henson. “When I realized what went into—not just, we’re not just even talking about a full-length fur coat, I’m talking about just, like, fur on your gloves or on your jacket … it ripped my heart out. And as humans, we have control.” Henson continues,I don’t think a living being should suffer for the sake of fashion, period. End of story.

I have always admired the PETA ad campaigns. The concepts behind the ads are simple but that is the beauty of the campaigns. There is a great sense of protest in the ads. I am looking forward to new catchy PETA campaigns.
