We haven’t heard many lyrics from rapper Lil Mama lately but we will see her on TV in the near future. No, I am not talking America’s Best Dance Crew but a TLC biopic.
23 year-old Naitia ‘Lil Mama’ Kirkland, has officially been cast as Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, the fallen member of the legendary R&B girl group TLC in a VH1 biopic. The biopic is currently in pre-production but there is no release date as of yet.
Rap legend MC Lyte couldn’t keep the secret in and spoke with reporters about the film while on the red carpet for the VIBE Impact Awards. “I don’t know if I’m supposed to say, but I will,” she said to reporters. “She just got the role of Left Eye in TLC’s new movie.” MC Lyte also revealed that her and the young rapper are working on an upcoming female rappers’ collaboration record.
Looks like 2013 will be a big year for Lil Mama!
Female rapper Lil Mama has been told for months to get back to her roots and go back to creating music. Back to her roots she went.
Lil Mama releases a video for her new single “Scrawberry” and pays homage to MC Lyte by sampling instrumentals from “I Got It Made.” This single is already being labeled a hit song. I’m on the fence but I’m leaning towards a thumbs up.
